Your brain is the sophisticated hub of your central nervous system, directing the state of your autonomic nervous system (rest & digest, fight or flight) & formulating your responses to life events.
Over time, your responses can become rigid, as if stuck on repeat, your brain simply defaulting to the same well-worn neural pathways over & over. My Experience with Neuroptimal
Back in 2018 I was having a challenging time, facing a couple of major life decisions. I enlisted the help of a great therapist who recommended Neuroptimal in addition to our sessions. I went for it, receiving 13 sessions over the course of about 5 weeks, & got way more than I bargained for. First, I made absolutely the right choices for me, regarding my challenging decisions. From there, the results were many. I noticed a remarkable general shift in my life. My consistency with meditation & workouts went way up. I was generally quicker & more successful in decision making, no more "paralysis by analysis" or mentally painting myself into corners. My general efficiency in life delighted me as I watched myself shredding through to-do lists and enjoying the work. Procrastination? It just didn't exist any more. My mental & emotional state was back to my default: happy & positive. I found myself doing things I wanted to do but had been avoiding, like regular winter dips in the ocean, signing up for a personal transformation course I'd been considering, & finally reaching out to a woman I'd been drawn to for years, starting a beautiful relationship with her. I found myself out camping, hiking & doing the things I love way more than at any other time in my life. It was amazing, it felt like I was just along for this ride of life, marvelling that somehow I was out say winter camping AGAIN, when I had never even winter camped before that time. It had been tough enough for me to get it together to go summer camping!
I went on to one of the most incredible periods of my life: buying 35 acres of raw land where I'd always wanted to live, subdividing & selling 2 parcels in a great financial win after being told it wasn't possible with my land, keeping 30 acres for myself & designing & co-contracting my dream home, learning to operate an excavator & gently developing the land building teepee sites and my dream workshop, finding an amazing spiritual mentor I still work to this day, building an amazing network of friends & community, embarking on my most powerful relationship to date, & the list goes on. Obviously there's more to it than just the Neuroptimal, but the change was so clearly marked in time, starting as I took the last few sessions, Neuroptimal's power is undeniable.

Beyond that, here's the basic deal: while you kick back & listen to the music track, Neuroptimal's sensors read the electrical activity of the brain, scanning it 256x/second; much like how an EKG scans the electrical activity in your heart. Via short breaks in the music, the system instantly signals the brain of any activity that's inefficient or inappropriate to the situation. The breaks in the music won't mean much to you, but they speak directly to the central nervous system, giving it the information it needs for the brain to self-optimize & self-correct. The body & brain's inherent tendency to optimize, balance & regulate for optimum function / least use of energy are stimulated, with the brain receiving the info it needs to realize that revisions are required. Training is totally effortless, requiring absolutely nothing on your part. You can relax & watch the accompanying visuals, read, work, study or meditate!
Many people start to notice changes — like feeling better rested, having a better outlook, & engaging more effectively in relationships — after just ten sessions, & most achieve their goals completely by 15-20 sessions.
Neurofeedback training is a learned task, just like learning to read. And, just like learning to read, the skill of better functioning can’t be unlearned. You may get rusty, but the effects will stay with you in some capacity throughout your lifetime. The better your self-care, the better the results last, so use your newfound abilities to hone in on perhaps a new daily meditation, exercise or other practice that keeps you centred & present. If you feel your training slipping away (not sleeping well, snapping at people, unable to stay focused etc.), it’s easy to get back on track with a few booster sessions. And before booking some 'boosters', you can always start with simply engaging your self-awareness & willpower, making a conscious choice to self-regulate & improve your self-care/maintenance habits. Know that if you do book some 'boosters', a previously trained brain responds & recovers quickly.
Like any learning, not leaving too much time between sessions helps skill-building & retention. 2-4 sessions per week is great, & consistency through your session period is key.
